More of the Sacrificial Keel Port Hull

Its been a while, this morning I was well enough to do some work on the boat ( I had the Flu for a month).
I started the day with a warm up session, fixing some plumbing in the house, then I started hand planing the hardwood edges of the sacrificial keel to shape prior to taping.
The hand planing was bloody hard so, after a short period I stopped to have a look at an old small electric plane that I had previously, during the starboard hull, thought might be too brutal.
I reduced the cut to a very fine level and after a test decided it would be OK, if I was careful. One has to be, especially near the glass reinforcing and I had to work out a way to extract the shavings which were a fine dust and getting everywhere.
The wood is a hardwood that can be a bit poisonous as dust, so I spent some time making an adapter from a PVC pipe for the extractor hose to fit the little triangle outlet on the plane.
It all worked well, so I plan to spend tomorrow planing and then filleting and taping the edge.
I think I am beginning to sound like the bloke building “Rutu
